(a)
Make sure the two pointers are in the white UP area on the indicator dial.
(b)
Make sure the two pointers align in the limit of 0.040 inch.

Do a test of the position indicator at the 1, 2, 5, 10, 15, 25, 30 and 40 unit positions:
(a)
Put the flap control lever in the applicable detent.
(b)
Let the flaps extend to the correct position.
(c)
Make sure the pointers are in the applicable white area on the indicator dial.
NOTE: Lightly hit the position indicator with your finger to
____
remove the friction error.
(d)
Do the test again at the subsequent flap position.
(e)
Do the test again during the retraction of the flaps.

If you replaced the position indicator, do the operational test of the flap asymmetry system (Ref 27-51-00/501).

If you replaced the left or the right position transmitter or gearbox, do the operational test of the flap asymmetry system (Ref 27-51-00/501).

FLAP POSITION TRANSMITTER - REMOVAL/INSTALLATION

1. General
_______
A. There are two tasks in this procedure. There is a task for the removal and a task for the installation of the position transmitter for the trailing edge flap system. This procedure is applicable to the left and the right position transmitters. The installation procedure includes a test of the FCC interference of the position transmitter.
