Procedure


 S 424-006
 (1)  
Install the RTO switch:

 (a)  
Make sure the switch actuator is installed on the switch assembly.

 (b)  
Put the RTO switch in its position on the structure.

 (c)  
Install the two screws that attach the RTO switch.

 (d)  
Connect the electrical wires to the RTO switch.

 (2)  
AIRPLANES WITHOUT EFIS;
 Adjust the RTO switch:


 (a)  
Make sure the thrust levers and the reverse thrust levers are in the idle position.

 (b)  
Make sure the speed brake lever is in the DOWN position.

 (c)  
Turn the adjustable stop until there is a clearance of 0.01 to


 0.02 inch between the roller on the cam foller and the thrust drum.
 NOTE: Because of the tolerances, the thrust drums will not
____ always align. You must measure the initial clearance from the highest drum surface. The clearance can change from 0.005 to 0.030 on each drum when you turn it from the idle position (0 degrees thrust lever angle) to the full forward thrust stop.
 (d)  
Move the speed brake lever to the UP position to get access to the sector plate.

 (e)  
Slowly move the No. 1 and 2 reverse thrust levers to the 60 to 80 degrees reverse lever angle position.

 (f)  
Turn the adjustment rod until the lifting arm is 0.040 to 0.060 inch above the down detent (view A-A).

 (g)  
Make sure the lifting arm moves freely to the up position.

 (h)  
Lift the speed brake lever up against its internal stop and move it above the lifting arm. 1) Make sure the clearance between the lifting tab on the


 speed brake lever and the lifting arm is a minimum of 0.01 inch.

 (i)  
Move the thrust lever to the idle position.

 (j)  
Move the two reverse thrust levers to 48 degrees reverse thrust lever angle. 1) Make sure the clearance between the lifting tab on the


 speed brake lever and the down position is a minimum of
 0.01 inch.

 (3)  
AIRPLANES WITH EFIS; Adjust the RTO switch:

 (a)  
Make sure the thrust levers and the reverse thrust levers are in the idle position.

 (b)  
Make sure the speed brake lever is in the DOWN position.

 (c)  
Move the two reverse thrust levers to 48 degrees reverse thrust lever angle.

 (d)  
Make sure there is a clearance between the speed brake lever and the DOWN position.

 (e)  
Move the reverse thrust levers to the idle position.

 (f)  
Make sure the speed brake lever moves to the DOWN position.

 (4)  
Remove the DO-NOT-CLOSE tags and close these circuit breakers:

 (a)  
P6 Panel
 1) AUTO SPEED BRAKE

 (5)  
Do a check of the operation of the RTO switch:

 (a)  
Supply the electrical power (Ref 24-22-00/201).

 (b)  
Make sure the two reverse thrust levers are in the idle position.

 (c)  
Make sure the speed brake lever is in the DOWN position.

 (d)  
Move the two reverse thrust levers to the 48 degrees reverse lever angle (measure from the idle position) position. 1) Make sure the speed brake lever moves out of the DOWN
