 FLAP 40-UNIT SWITCHES - ADJUSTMENT/TEST

 1.  General_______
 A.  There are two tasks in this procedure. There is a task to adjust the flap 40-unit switches. There is also an operational test of the flap 40-unit switches.
 TASK 27-51-94-825-001
 2.  Flap 40-Unit Switches Adjustment (Fig. 501)________________________________
 A.  Standard Tools and Equipment
 (1)  
Ohmmeter

Prepare to Adjust the Flap 40-Unit Switches


 S 015-002
 (1)
Remove the right stabilizer trim wheel from the control stand:

 (a)  
Remove the retaining nut from the stabilizer trim wheel.

 (b)  
Remove the stabilizer trim wheel from the shaft.


 NOTE: Do not remove the shaft.

 S 015-003
 (2)  
Remove the upper right door from the control stand:

 (a)  
Remove the screws from the upper right door.

 (b)  
Turn the upper door up until you can get access to the wires for the lightplate.

 (c)  
Remove the wires for the lightplate.

 (d)  
Remove the door.

 (e)  
Replace the nuts and washers on the lightplate studs.

 D.  
Do the Flap 40-Unit Switches Adjustment


 S 865-004
 (1)  
Move the flap control lever to the 30-unit detent.

 (a)  
Make sure the switches do not operate.


 S 825-005
 (2)  
Move the flap control lever 5 |2 degrees aft of the 30-unit detent.

 (a)  
Make sure the switches operate: 1) You can hear a click when the switches operate. 2) You can use an ohmmeter to do a continuity check between


 the switch terminals C and NO.

 S 825-006
 (3)  
If the switches did not operate, adjust the cam:

 (a)  
Remove the lockwire from the cam.

 (b)  
Loosen the bolts on the cam.

 (c)  
Adjust the cam to make the switches operate on the aft surface of the cam.

 (d)  
Tighten the bolts and install the lockwire.

 (4)  
Install the upper right door on the control stand:

 (a)  
Install the wires on the lightplate studs.

 (b)  
Install the door on the control stand.

 (c)  
Install the screws on the door.


 S 415-008
 (5)
Install the right stabilizer trim wheel on the control stand:

 (a)  
Put the stabilizer trim wheel on the shaft with the handle 90 +/-15 degrees from the left trim wheel handle.

 (b)  
Install the retaining nut on the trim wheel.

 (6)  
Put the flap control lever in the UP detent.

Do this task: "Operational Test - Flap 40-Unit Switches"
