Put the spoiler mixer in its position and engage the couplings and the mounting studs.

 (e)  
Make sure the pushrod aligns with the ground spoiler control valve.

 (f)  
Attach the spoiler mixer to the four mounting studs:
 1) Install the washers and the nuts.
 2) Tighten the nuts to 50-70 pound-inches.


 (g)  
Tighten the seven nuts on the four couplings to 50-70
 pound-inches.

 (5)  
Connect the pushrod to the ground spoiler control valve:

 (a)
Use the rigging tool for the ground spoiler control valve to move the lever until the dimension A is 0.70 |0.01 inch.

 (b)  
Loosen the checknut on the pushrod.

 (c)  
Adjust the length of the pushrod until you can easily install the bolt in the rod end.

 (d)  
Apply the grease to the threads of the rod end.

 (e)  
Install the bolt, washer and nut in the rod end.

 (f)  
Install the cotter pin in the nut.

 (g)  
Tighten the checknut.

 (h)  
Make sure that you can see the threads of the rod end through the inspection hole in the pushrod.

 (i)  
Remove the rigging tool from the ground spoiler control valve.

 (6)  
Install the aileron spring cartridge:

 (a)  
Make sure the rig pins A/S-3 and A/S-4 are installed.

 (b) Connect the aileron spring cartridge to the lower crank:
 1)  Install the bolt, spacer, washer and nut to attach the aileron spring cartridge to the lower crank.

Remove all of the rig pins.

Do the adjustment of the output cam of the spoiler mixer:

 (a)  
Open the grease fitting access covers on the aft surface of the spoiler mixer (Fig. 401).

 (b)  
Move the speed brake control lever to the DOWN position.

 (c)  
Turn the captain's aileron control wheel counterclockwise 87 degrees from the neutral position.

 (d)  
Look at the spoiler mixer cam through the left grease fitting access hole.

 (e)  
Make sure the left cam follower is on the maximum rise part of the spoiler mixer.

 (f)  
Turn the control wheel to the neutral position.

 (g)  
Turn the control wheel clockwise 87 degrees from the neutral position.

 (h)  
Look at the spoiler mixer cam through the right grease fitting access hole.

 (i)  
Make sure the right cam follower is on the maximum rise part of the spoiler mixer.

 (j)  
Turn the control wheel to the neutral position.

 (k)  
If the cam followers are not on the maximum rise, adjust the speed brake control cables SBA and SBB (Fig. 402): 1) Use the turnbuckles to make the cable SBB longer by


 one-half turn.
 NOTE: The cable SBB is the lower cable on the speed brake
____ quadrant on the ratio changer. When you look forward, the speed brake quadrant will turn clockwise when you tighten the cable SBB.
