Put the arming switch in its position.
(b)
Install the two mounting screws.
(c)
Attach the electrical leads to the arming switch. ú E. Switch Adjustment

Adjust the speed brake arming switch: ú (a) Move the speed brake lever to the DOWN position. ú (b) Move the speed brake lever to the FLIGHT DETENT position. ú (c) Loosen the screws. ú (d) Move the speed brake lever forward until the aft surface of the ú detent pin is 0.20+/-0.02 inches (5.08 +/-0.51 mm) from the aft ú edge of the DOWN detent. ú ú
CAUTION: DO NOT BEND THE SWITCH LEVER.
_______TO ADJUST THE SWITCH LOOSEN ú THE ATTACHING SCREWS UNTIL THE SWITCH TURNS FREELY. ú ú (e) Adjust the switch until there is continuity between the common ú and normally open terminals. ú ú NOTE:____Always adjust the switch from the no continuity position ú to the continuity position. ú
F. Do a test of the speed brake arming switch:

(3) S 864-013Put the inboard and the outboard antiskid switches on the center instrument panel to the ON position.
(4) S 864-014Make sure these circuit breakers are closed: (a) P6 Panel 1) INDICATOR LIGHTS 2) FLIGHT CONTROL VALVES 3) SPOILER SHUTOFF VALVES 4) AUTO SPEED BRAKE 5) ANTISKID (ALL)
(5) S 864-015Put the No. 1 and 2 thrust levers in the idle position.
(6) S 864-016Make sure the ground spoilers are in the fully down position.

WARNING: MAKE SURE THE SPEED BRAKE ARMED LIGHT IS ON WHEN YOU LIFT THE
_______ SPEED BRAKES WITH THE SPEED BRAKE LEVER. THE SPEED BRAKES CAN AUTOMATICALLY RETRACT. THIS CAN CAUSE INJURY TO PERSONS.
(7) Do a test of the speed brake arming switch:
NOTE: The SPEED BRAKE DO NOT ARM light will be off during this
____ test.
(a)
Make sure the speed brake lever is in the DOWN position.
(b)
AIRPLANES WITH THE SPEED BRAKE TEST SWITCHES; Push the speed brake test switch 3 to put the speed brake lever actuator in the down position.
(c)
AIRPLANES WITHOUT THE SPEED BRAKE TEST SWITCHES; Move one of the two thrust levers forward to put the speed brake actuator in the down position.
(d)
Slowly move the speed brake lever aft until the ARMED light comes on. 1) Make sure the ARMED light comes on before you move the
speed brake lever more than 0.25 inch aft of the DOWN position.
NOTE: Measure the distance along the top surface of the
____ speed brake indicator detent plate.
(e) Move the speed brake lever 1 to 2 inches aft.

(f) Slowly move the speed brake lever forward until the ARMED light is off. 1) Make sure the ARMED light is off before the speed brake lever is less than 0.10 inch aft of the DOWN position.
(8) S 864-018Remove the system A hydraulic power (Ref 27-62-00/201).
(9) S 864-019Remove the electrical power (Ref 24-22-00/201).
