Install the flap control cable tension switch (Fig. 401):
(a)
Install the switch on the mounting bolts.
(b)
Apply a layer of the corrosion preventive compound to the mounting bolts.
(c)
Install the washers and nuts.

Do the switch test during the flap extension:
(a)
Put the flap control lever in the 15-unit detent.
(b)
During the flap extension, put the 0.04 inch thick steel sheet between the switch and the magnet.
(c)
Make sure the bypass valve indicator moves to position 2.
NOTE: The TE flap bypass valve is installed on the aft
____ bulkhead of the right main gear wheel well. The indicator is on the valve.
(d)
Make sure the movment of the flaps stops.
(e)
Remove the steel sheet from the switch.
(f)
Make sure the bypass valve indicator moves to the position 1.
(g)
Make sure the flaps move to the 15-unit position.

Do the switch test during the flap retraction:
(a)
Put the flap control lever in the UP detent.
(b)
During the flap retraction, put the steel sheet between the switch and the magnet.
