SPOILER CONTROL SYSTEM - MAINTENANCE PRACTICES
______________________________________________
 1.  General_______
 A.  There are two tasks in this procedure. There is a task to supply the hydraulic power to systems A and B. There is also a task to remove the hydraulic power from the systems A and B.
 B.  You must release the pressure from the hydraulic systems A and B before you do maintenance on the spoiler control system. This is to prevent injury to persons because of accidental operation of the control system during maintenance. You must keep maintenance stands and equipment away from the limits of travel of the control surfaces.
 C.  When you operate the hydraulic systems A and B, you must obey these conditions:
 (1)  A minimum of 1675 pounds (761 kilograms, 250 gallons) of fuel is necessary in each fuel tank keep the hydraulic fluid cool. On hot days, or when the temperature of the fuel is more than 90°F (32.2°C), you must monitor the overheat indicators. Turn the pump switches off if the hydraulic fluid becomes too hot.
