 7)  If the distance differences are more than the specified limit, adjust the input arm again.
 (l)  Remove the protractors and the protractor stands from the spoilers.

Adjust the spoiler mixer:

 (a)  
Open the grease fitting access covers on the aft surface of the spoiler mixer (Fig. 503).

 (b)  
Move the speed brake lever to the DOWN position.

 (c)  
Turn the captain's aileron control wheel counterclockwise 87 degrees from the neutral position.

 (d)  
Look at the spoiler mixer cam through the left grease fitting access cover. 1) Make sure the left cam follower is on the maximum rise part

 of the spoiler mixer.

 (e)  
Turn the control wheel to the neutral position.

 (f)  
Turn the control wheel clockwise 87 degrees from the neutral position.

 (g)  
Look at the spoiler mixer cam through the right grease fitting access cover. 1) Make sure the right cam follower is on the maximum rise

 part of the spoiler mixer.

 (h)  
Turn the control wheel to the neutral position.

 (i)  
If the cam followers were not on the maximum rise when you turned the control wheel, adjust the SBA and SBB cables (Fig. 507): 1) Use the turnbuckles to make the cable SBB shorter by


 one-half turn and make the cable SBA longer by one-half turn.
 NOTE: The cable SBB is the lower cable on the speed brake
____ quadrant on the ratio changer. When you look forward, the speed brake quadrant will turn clockwise when you tighten the cable SBB.
 2)  Make sure the cable tension is in the limits shown in Fig. 507.
 NOTE: After the adjustment is it not necessary for the
____ rig pin to fit in the rig pin hole.
 3) Make sure the cam followers are on the maximum rise when you turn the control wheel. 4) Install the lock clips on the turnbuckles.
 (j)  Close the two grease fitting access covers.

Do the system test of the spoiler control system.

 A.  General
 (1)  This procedure does a test of the operation of the flight spoilers No. 2, 3, 6 and 7. Refer to 27-62-00/501 for a test of the speed brakes and for the operation of the flight spoilers as speed brakes.

TURNBUCKLES


TO MAKE SURE YOU GET THE CORRECT CABLE TENSION, PERMIT THE AIRFRAME TEMPERATURE TO STABILIZE (+/-5 DEGREES) FOR A MINIMUM OF ONE HOUR.
YOU MUST ADJUST THE TENSION IN THE CABLES WHEN THE TENSION IS |15 POUNDS FROM THE VALUE IN THE TABLE.
