Examine the latch lug on the speed brake lever (Fig. 601):
(a)
Lift the speed brake lever out of the detent.
(b)
Measure the detent latch lug.
(c)
Repair or replace the speed brake lever if the latch lug is not in the tolerance shown in Fig. 601.
(d)
Put the speed brake lever in the detent.

ENGINE THROTTLE SWITCHES - REMOVAL/INSTALLATION

1. General_______
A. There are two tasks in this procedure. There is a task for the removal and a task for the installation of the engine throttle switches. The engine throttle switches are installed on the autothrottle clutch supports in the ceiling of the electronic compartment.
B. The M1639 (Engine 1) and M1640 (Engine 2) engine throttle switches are S1 through S5.
C. You use the angular dimensions at the thrust levers to adjust the engine throttle switches.

Open these circuit breakers and attach DO-NOT-CLOSE tags:
(a)
P6 Panel
1) AUTO SPEED BRAKE
2) AURAL WARN
3) AUTO BRAKES CONT
4) ENGINE 1 SYNC LOCK

Remove the applicable engine throttle switch:
(a)
Disconnect the electrical wires from the terminals on the switch.
(b)
Remove the S1 - S4 switches (Fig. 401): 1) Remove the cotter pin from the drilled straight pin. 2) Remove the drilled straight pin. 3) Remove the switch.
