WARNING: MAKE SURE PERSONS AND EQUIPMENT ARE CLEAR OF THE LE AND TE
_______ FLAPS AND FLAP DRIVE MECHANISMS BEFORE YOU MOVE THE FLAP CONTROL LEVER. WITH THE HYDRAULIC SYSTEMS PRESSURIZED, THE FLAPS WILL MOVE WHEN YOU MOVE THE FLAP CONTROL LEVER. THIS CAN CAUSE INJURY TO PERSONS OR DAMAGE TO EQUIPMENT.
(3) Move the flap control lever to the 40-unit detent.
NOTE: If the airplane is on jacks, compress the right main gear

D. Do the Test of the Flap 40-Unit Switches

Move the flap load limiter test switch on the equipment bay light panel in the electronics compartment to the SYSTEM TEST position.
(a)
Make sure the flaps retract to the 30-unit position.

Release the test switch.
(a)
Make sure the flaps extend to the 40-unit position.

Put the flap control lever in the 30-unit position.

Make sure the flaps retract to the 30-unit position.

Move the flap load limiter test switch to the SWITCH TEST position

Make sure the TEST light is on.
(5)
Put the flap control lever in the UP position to retract the flaps.

FLAP CONTROL CABLE TENSION SWITCH - REMOVAL/INSTALLATION

1. General_______
A. There are three tasks in this procedure. There is a task for the removal, a task for the installation and a task for the functional test of the flap control cable tension switch.
B. The flap control cable tension switch is installed on the right side of the airplane below the passenger compartment floor above the aft cargo compartment. You must remove the forward right ceiling panel in the aft cargo compartment to get access to the tension switch.

Open these circuit breakers and install DO-NOT-CLOSE tags:

P6-2 Panel
1) FLAP POS IND - TE

Do this task to remove the forward right ceiling panel in the aft cargo compartment: "Remove the Ceiling Lining" (AMM 25-52-65/401).

Remove the flap control cable tension switch (Fig. 401):
(a)
Disconnect the wires at the splices near the switch.
(b)
Remove the nuts and washers that attach the switch to the mounting bracket.
