 CAUTION: MAKE SURE THE ELECTRIC ACTUATOR HAS A MINIMUM OF 13
_______ MINUTES OFF FOR EVERY 2 MINUTES OPERATION. IF YOU DO NOT GIVE THE ACTUATOR SUFFICIENT TIME OFF IT CAN CAUSE DAMAGE TO THE ELECTRIC ACTUATOR.
 1) Hold the captain's STAB TRIM switch to NOSE DN. a) Make sure the stabilizer leading edge moves up until the limit switch operates. b) Release the switch. 2) Hold the captain's STAB TRIM switch to NOSE UP. a) Make sure the stabilizer leading edge moves down until the limit switch operates. b) Release the switch. 3) Make sure the stabilizer moves full travel in one direction in 17-24 seconds. 4) Move the stabilizer in the APL NOSE DN direction for 3 seconds to make sure the stabilizer moves smoothly.
 NOTE: You can hear some noise because of the cable
____ extension and the mass of the front end system.
 (d)
Open these circuit breakers and attach DO-NOT-CLOSE tags:

 1)  P6 Circuit Breaker Panel
 a) TRANSFER BUS NO. 2 NORMAL
 b) DC BUS 2


 (e)  
Move each STAB TRIM switch in the two directions.
 1) Make sure the stabilizer does not move.


 (f)  
Remove the DO-NOT-CLOSE tags and close these circuit breakers:

 1)  P6 Circuit Breaker Panel
 a) TRANSFER BUS NO. 2 NORMAL
 b) DC BUS 2


 (g)  
Set the flaps to the full up position.

 (h)  
Move the stabilizer in the APL NOSE UP direction until the system comes to the full trim speed. 1) Move the STAB TRIM switch to the off position for

 approximately 0.2 seconds and then move it to NOSE DN. 2) Make sure the stabilizer moves in the APL NOSE DN direction immediately after you move the switch to NOSE DN.

 (i)  
Move the stabilizer in the APL NOSE DN direction until the system comes to the full trim speed. 1) Move the STAB TRIM switch to the off position for

 approximately 0.2 seconds and then move it to NOSE UP. 2) Make sure the stabilizer moves in the APL NOSE UP direction immediately after you move the switch to NOSE UP.

 (j)
Use the captain's STAB TRIM switch to move the stabilizer.


 1)  While the stabilizer moves, put the stabilizer trim cutout switch to CUTOUT. a) Make sure the stabilizer stops immediately. b) Make sure the stabilizer does not move with the STAB
 TRIM switch. 2) Set the stabilizer trim cutout switch to NORMAL. a) Make sure the stabilizer moves.

 (8)  
Do the test of the stabilizer trim wheel free movement.

 (a)  
Set the flaps to the full up position.


 1)  Hold a STAB TRIM switch to NOSE UP until the system comes to the full trim speed. a) Release the switch and monitor the free movement of the
 stabilizer trim wheel.

 b)  If the free movement is more than 0.5 turn (180 degrees), you must replace the main electric trim actuator (AMM 27-41-71/401).
 c)  If the reverse travel (nose down direction) is more than 20 degrees, you must replace the main electric trim actuator (AMM 27-41-71/401).
