 (1)  
Install the mounting bolts (Fig. 401):

 (a)  
Set the feel actuator below the feel and centering unit.

 (b)  
First install the left mounting bolt and then the right mounting bolt.

 (c)  
Install the first locknut on the forward bolt. 1) Tighten the first locknut to 120-140 pound-inches.

 (d) (e)  Install the second locknut on the forward bolt. 1) Tighten the second locknut to 60-85 pound-inches.Install the first locknut on the aft bolt. 1) Tighten the first locknut to 85-100 pound-inches.
 CAUTION:_______ DO NOT TRY TO TIGHTEN THE FIRST LOCKNUT AGAIN AFTER TIGHTENING THE SECOND LOCKNUT. IF THIS IS DONE, DAMAGE TO EQUIPMENT MAY OCCUR.
 (f)  Install the second locknut on the aft bolt. 1) Tighten the second locknut to 30-35 pound-inches.
 (2)  S 414-009Connect the four flexible hydraulic lines to the feel actuator: (a) Remove the plugs and the caps. (b) Connect the four flexible hydraulic lines to the feel actuator.
 (3)  S 094-010Remove the rig pin E-5 from the aft control quadrant.
 (4)  S 864-011Do this task: "Put the Elevator Systems A and B Back to the Condition Before the Pressure Removal" (Ref 27-31-00/201).
 (5)  S 874-013Bleed the elevator control system: (a) Move the control column in a longitudinal direction until the movement is smooth and the artificial feel is normal. (b) Make sure the artificial feel forces increase when the air is bled out.
 (6)  S 794-012Examine the hydraulic connections at the feel actuator for leaks.
 (7)  S 724-017Do the test of the feel force system in this task: "System Test -Feel Force System and Autopilot Authority" (Ref 27-31-00/501).
 (8)  S 414-018Install the access door 3802.

 ELEVATOR INPUT TORQUE TUBE - REMOVAL/INSTALLATION

 1.  General_______
 A.  This procedure has two tasks, one for the removal and one for the installation of the elevator input torque tube (which is referred to as the "torque tube"). The procedure has these parts:
 (1)  
The removal of the torque tube

 (2)  
The installation of the torque tube.

 B.  
The torque tube is a part of the elevator aft control quadrant assembly (which is referred to as the "quadrant assembly"). The quadrant assembly has a torque tube, four quadrants, four input cranks, bearings, and supporting hardware. The quadrant assembly is removed from the airplane as a unit.
