FEEL SYSTEM PITOT TUBE - REMOVAL/INSTALLATION

1. General_______
A. This procedure has two tasks, one for the removal and one for the installation of the feel system pitot tube (which is referred to as the "pitot tube"). The procedure has these parts:
(1)
The removal of the pitot tube
(2)
The installation of the replacement pitot tube.

Remove the pitot tube (Fig. 401)
(a)
Set the PITOT STATIC switches on the P5 Pilots Overhead Panel to OFF and attach DO-NOT-MOVE tags.
CAUTION:_______DO NOT TOUCH THE PITOT TUBE. LET THE TEMPERATURE DECREASE TO AMBIENT BEFORE YOU REMOVE THE PITOT TUBE. IF YOU TOUCH THE PITOT TUBE WHEN IT IS HOT, IT CAN BURN YOU.
(b)
Disconnect the electrical connector D692 or D694.
(c)
Disconnect the pitot air connector.
(d)
Hold the pitot tube and remove the three mounting bolts.
(e)
Remove the pitot tube, the gasket, and the wedge.
(f)
Install the protective cap on the pitot air line.
