STABILIZER TRIM CUTOUT SWITCHES - ADJUSTMENT/TEST

A. This procedure has one task. The task is a test of the stabilizer trim cutout switch.

A. General
(1)
There are two tests in this task, one is for the main cutout switch and one is for the autopilot cutout switch.

Do the Test of the Main Cutout Switch ú ú S 865-001 ú (1) Do this task: "Supply Electrical Power" (AMM 24-22-00/201).

Make sure you close these circuit breakers:
(a)
P6-2 Circuit Breakers Panel
1) STABILIZER TRIM ACTUATOR
2) STABILIZER TRIM CONT

Do the test of the main cutout switch:
(a)
Set the main cutout switch to NORMAL. 1) Operate the stabilizer trim switch to NOSE UP and then to
NOSE DN. 2) Make sure the stabilizer moves in the correct direction.
(b)
Set the main cutout switch to CUTOUT. 1) Operate the stabilizer trim switch to NOSE UP and then to
NOSE DN. 2) Make sure the system does not operate.
(c)
Set the main cutout switch to NORMAL. 1) Operate the stabilizer trim switch to NOSE UP and then to
NOSE DN. 2) Make sure the stabilizer moves in the correct direction.

If the electrical power is not necessary, do this task: "Remove Electrical Power" (AMM 24-22-00/201).

Do the Test of the Autopilot Cutout Switch
(1)
Do this task: "Supply Electrical Power" (AMM 24-22-00/201).

(2) Do this task: "Supply Hydraulic Power to Systems A and B"
(AMM 29-15-00/201).

(3) Set the stabilizer to 5 units of trim.

(4) Make sure you close these circuit breakers:
(a) P6-2 Circuit Breakers Panel
1) STABILIZER TRIM ACTUATOR
2) STABILIZER TRIM CONT

(5) Do the test of the autopilot cutout switch:
(a) Set the autopilot cutout switch to NORMAL.
ú 1) Engage the autopilot in CWS (Control Wheel Steering) mode.
ú 2) Move the control column a minimum of 2 inches forward and
ú release the force.
ú
ú NOTE: You may need to hold the column in its forward____
ú position for several seconds before releasing it.

ú a) The stabilizer should move leading edge up and the
ú column should move aft slowly.
ú 3) Move the control column a minimum of 2 inches aft and
ú release the force.
ú

ú 4) Disengage the autopilot.
ú 5) Set the stabilizer to 5 units of trim.
ú 6) Engage the autopilot.
