Do a check of the engine N2 tachometer input to the SMC:
(a)
Push the down button on each SMC.
(b)
Set the engine No. 1 N2 indicator to 0% (0 Hz) and the engine No. 2 N2 indicator to 0% (0 Hz).
(c)
Make sure that the N2 value on each SMC display is 0 |5%.
(d)
Set the engine No. 1 N2 indicator to 80% (1496 |1 Hz) and the engine No. 2 N2 indicator to 80% (1496 |1 Hz).
(e)
Make sure that the N2 value on each SMC display is 80 |5%.
(f)
Set the engine No. 1 N2 indicator to 0% (0 Hz) and the engine No. 2 N2 indicator to 0% (0 Hz).

Remove the stall warning system tester and the synthesizer/function generators.

Connect the electrical connector D546 to the N1 sensor and D552 to the N2 sensor on each engine.

Connect a dc power supply for the engine N1 signals:
(a)
Remove the EIS primary display panel (Ref 31-42-01/401).

(b) (c) (d) Connect a 0-5V dc power supply to the N1 indicator connectors D10092 pins 15 (+) and 16 (gnd) and D10094 pins 15 (+) and 16 (gnd).Connect 28V dc to connector D10092 pin 19 with a jumper.Connect 28V dc to connector D10094 pin 19 with a jumper.

(2) Do a check of the N1 tachometer input to the SMC: (a) Push the down button on each SMC. (b) Adjust the power supply to 0.17 |0.04V dc (this is the same as an N1 speed of 0%). (c) Make sure that the N1 value on each SMC display is 0 |5%. (d) Adjust the power supply to 3.27 |0.04V dc (this is the same as an N1 speed of 80%). (e) Make sure that the N1 value on each SMC display is 80 |5%. (f) Adjust the power supply to 0V dc.
