Put the flap control lever in the 40-unit detent to extend the flaps.

Do this task: "Depressurize Hydraulic System B" (Ref 27-51-00/201).

Examine the adjustment of the cables for the aftflap mechanism boom:

 (a)  
Disconnect the two pushrods from the aftflap.

 (b)  
Disconnect the forward end of the boom assembly if it is necessary.

 (c)  
Do this task: "Pressurize Hydraulic System B"
 (Ref 27-51-00/201).


 (d)  
Retract the flaps until you can move the boom assembly rearward to the correct position.

 (e)  
Move the boom assembly rearward to the correct position.

 (f)  
Install the rig pins F-5 and F-6.

 (g)  
Make sure the tension in the cable is 100 |10 pounds.


 NOTE: The temperature must be approximately 70°F when you
____ adjust the tension. If the temperature decreases, you must decrease the tension. If the temperature increases, you must increase the tension. Do not change the tolerance to more than the 10 pound limit.
 (h)  
If the tension in the cable is incorrect, do this task: "Inboard Trailing Edge Flap Adjustment" (Ref 27-51-04/501).

 (i)  
If the tension in the cable is correct, remove the rig pins F-5 and F-6.

 (j)  
Do this task: "Pressurize Hydraulic System B"
 (Ref 27-51-00/201).


 (k)  
Extend the trailing edge flaps.

 (l)  
Move the boom assembly forward to the attach point.

 (m)  
Temporarily attach the boom assembly at the forward end.

 (n)  
Connect the pushrods to the aftflap.

 (o)  
Put the flap control lever in the UP detent to retract the flaps.

 (p)  
Disconnect the boom assembly from the forward attach point.

 (q)  
Stop for 2 minutes, then do this task: "Depressurize Hydraulic System B" (Ref 27-51-00/201).

 (7)  
Connect the boom (1) to the inboard fairing support fitting:

 (a)  
Install the rig pins F-5 and F-6 on the boom roller.

 (b)  
Connect the forward end of the boom to the inboard fairing support fitting. 1) Adjust the boom fitting if it is necessary to connect the

 boom.

 (c)  
Apply the corrosion preventive compound on the bolt.

 (d)  
Install the bolt with the head on the inboard side.

 (e)  
Tighten the checknut on the end fitting and install the lockwire.

 (f)  
Remove the rig pins F-5 and F-6 from the boom.

 (8)  
Do this task: "Pressurize Hydraulic System B" (Ref 27-51-00/201).
