Install the bonding jumper (10):
(a)
Remove the upper left aft bolt on the jackscrew gearbox (8).
(b)
Clean the area around the bolt for electrical bonding.
(c)
Clean mating surfaces for the bonding jumpers.
(d)
Use the milliohmmeter to make sure that the resistance of the bonding jumper connection is less than 0.010 ohms.
(e)
Install the bolt with the bonding jumper below the bolt head and attach it with the washer and the locknut.

Remove the hoist adapter from the jackscrew.
(a)
Remove the hoist bar and the hoist from the airplane.

If it is applicable, install the wire bundle clamps.

Connect the STA cable (16) to the cable drum (24):
(a)
Wind the cable on the drum approximately 7.75 turns.
NOTE: A tag attached to the cable terminal shows the number of
____ turns of the STA cable that were on the cable drum that you removed.
CAUTION: MAKE SURE YOU ALWAYS KEEP TENSION ON THE CABLE WHILE
_______ WORKING ON IT. IF YOU DO NOT KEEP TENSION ON THE CABLE, IT MAY UNWIND ON THE FORWARD DRUM AND BECOME CAUGHT BETWEEN THE CABLE AND THE CABLE GUARDS. THIS CAN CAUSE DAMAGE TO THE CABLE AND THE CABLE WILL NEED TO BE REPLACED.
(b)
Remove the STA cable clamp.
(c)
Install the cable terminal in the lower terminal slot of the cable drum.
(d)
Install a lockwire to connect the terminal. 1) Install the ends of the lockwire in the terminal slot.

Lubricate the jackscrew threads:
(a)
Install an adapter.
(b)
Remove the cable clamps.
(c)
Operate the jackscrew to move the stabilizer leading edge to the full down position.
(d)
Make sure the STA cable winds on the cable drum correctly during the operation.
CAUTION:_______KEEP TENSION ON THE CABLE AT ALL TIMES. IF THE CABLE GETS JAMMED BETWEEN THE CABLE AND THE CABLE GUARD, DAMAGE TO THE CABLE WILL OCCUR. IF THE CABLE IS DAMAGED, IT WILL HAVE TO BE REPLACED.
(e)
Keep the tension on the STB cable when the cable winds from the spool or the reel.
(f)
Apply a layer of grease to the jackscrew threads between the ball nut and the jackscrew downstop.

Remove cable clamp and connect the STB cable (17) to the cable drum (24):
(a)
Put a 50 pound load on the stabilizer trim control wheel to pull on the STA cable.
NOTE: This will keep the cable on the drum, which will make
____ the removal of the STB cable easier.
