HORIZONTAL STABILIZER TRIM CONTROL SYSTEM - ADJUSTMENT/TEST

1. General

A. There are five tasks in this procedure:

The operational test of the horizontal stabilizer trim system
(2)
The adjustment of the horizontal stabilizer trim system
(3)
The system test of the horizontal stabilizer trim system
(4)
The test of the stabilizer clutch friction
(5)
The test of the stabilizer trim auxiliary brake.
B.
Do not do this procedure in strong tail winds. The wind can cause the stabilizer trim control systems to align incorrectly.
C.
The painted marks on the fuselage and the leading edge of the horizontal stabilizer can be used for a visual indication of stabilizer travel. Do not use the marks to rig the stabilizer.
