 Do a test of the control cable tension switch system (Fig. 508):

 (a)  
Supply the system B hydraulic power (AMM 27-51-00/201).

 (b)  
Move the flap control lever to the 15-unit detent.

 (c)  
During the flap extension, put a 0.04 inch thick steel sheet between the switch and the magnet. 1) Make sure the red pointer on the flap bypass valve moves to


 the position 2.

Remove the steel sheet from between the switch and the magnet. 1) Make sure the red pointer on the bypass valve moves to the

 position 1. 2) Make sure the flaps move to the 15-unit position.

 (e)  
Move the flap control lever to the UP detent.

 (f)  
During the flap retraction, put a 0.04 inch thick steel sheet between the switch and the magnet. 1) Make sure the red pointer on the flap bypass valve moves to

 the position 2. 2) Make sure the flap retraction stops.

 (g)  
Remove the steel sheet from between the switch and the magnet. 1) Make sure the red pointer on the bypass valve moves to the


 position 1. 2) Make sure the flaps move to the fully retracted position.
 F. Put the Airplane Back to Its Usual Condition

 (1)  Supply the electrical power (AMM 24-22-00/201).

 WARNING: MAKE SURE THAT PERSONS AND EQUIPMENT ARE CLEAR OF ALL CONTROL
_______ SURFACES BEFORE YOU SUPPLY HYDRAULIC POWER. AILERONS, RUDDERS, ELEVATORS, TRAILING EDGE FLAPS, LEADING EDGE FLAPS AND SLATS, SPOILERS LANDING GEAR AND THRUST REVERSERS CAN MOVE QUICKLY WHEN YOU SUPPLY HYDRAULIC POWER. THIS CAN CAUSE INJURY TO PERSONS AND DAMAGE TO EQUIPMENT.
 (2)  Supply the system B hydraulic power (AMM 27-51-00/201).

Move the flap control lever to the UP detent to retract the flaps.

Stop for 2 minutes to permit the flaps to fully retract.

Do a test of the left asymmetry shutoff system:

 (a)  
Measure and make a record of the dimension X at the No. 4 flap ballscrew (Fig. 505). Refer to this as the dimension X1.

 (b)  
Use the alternate flap system to extend the flaps to the 25-unit position: 1) Put the ALTERNATE FLAP arm switch in the ARM position. 2) Put the ALTERNATE FLAP control switch in the DOWN position
