 Install the cable guards (23 and 26):

 (a)  
Attach the aft cable guard (23) to the jackscrew gearbox (8) with two bolts, nuts, and washers.


 NOTE: The spline adapter may be needed to get additional
____ slack to remove the initial cable coil.
 CAUTION:_______MAKE SURE YOU INSTALL THE SUPPORT PLATE CORRECTLY. IF THE SUPPORT PLATE IS NOT INSTALLED CORRECTLY, THE AMOUNT OF TORQUE NECESSARY TO DISENGAGE THE MANUAL CLUTCH CAN EXCEED THE LIMITS.
 (b)  Attach the forward cable guards (26) and the support plate (25) to the jackscrew gearbox (8) with the bolts, washers and nuts.
 NOTE: Make sure the bearing assembly and the washer (28)
____ are installed on the same side of the support plate (25) as the cable drum (24).
 (c)  
Attach the aft cable guard (23) to the support plate (25) with the bolt, nut, and washer.

 (d)  
Install the nut (27): 1) Torque the nut (27) finger tight. 2) Discard the old cotter pin and install a new cotter pin in


 the end of the castellated nut.

Make sure the mating surfaces of the actuator and the jackscrew gearbox are clean.

 (b)  
Clean the mating surfaces at the forward attach bolt for electrical bonding.

 (c)  
Engage the actuator splined shaft with the internal spline of the jackscrew gearbox (8).

 (d)  
Install the actuator mounting bolts (15) with the washers and the locknuts.

 (e)  
Install the cover bolts (19) for the actuator cover (9) with the bolt head down.

 (f)  
Install the wire bundle clamp to the bolt clip at the bolt (12).

 (g)  
Install the electrical connectors (11).

 (h)  
Make sure the electrical resistance between the actuator housing and the airplane structure is 0.010 ohm maximum.
