Make sure the springback of the flap control lever is 0.190 |0.02 inch (Fig. 502): 1) Lift the flap control lever until the index pin does not
engage the detent plate. 2) Install a clamp on the flap control lever to hold it in this position. 3) Install the shims in the aft clearance between the two parts of the flap control lever. 4) Make sure the shims stop all forward and aft movement
between the two parts of the control lever. 5) Move the flap control lever fully forward. 6) Release the flap control lever. 7) Make sure the flap control lever moves back to the correct
position (Fig. 502).
(b) Make sure the tension on the WFA and WFB cables is in the tolerance shown in Fig. 501: 1) Open the forward access door 1103. 2) Measure the tension on the cables.

(c) If the springback of the flap control lever or the tension on the cables is not in the tolerance, adjust the cables: 1) Remove the forward right ceiling panel in the aft cargo
compartment (AMM 25-52-65/401). 2) Install a clamp on the flap control quadrant to hold it against the quadrant stop (Fig. 503).
NOTE: Make sure there is no dirt on the surfaces of the
____
quadrant stop.
3) Remove the lock clips from the WFA and WFB turnbuckles in the lower nose compartment. 4) Adjust the tension on the cables until it is in the tolerance (Fig. 501). 5) Adjust the cables until the springback of the flap control
lever is in the tolerance (Fig. 502). 6) Make sure the tension is in the tolerance. 7) Install the lock clips on the turnbuckles. 8) Close the forward access door 1103. 9) Remove the clamp from the flap control quadrant. 10) Install the forward right ceiling panel in the aft cargo
compartment (AMM 25-52-65/401).
(d)
Remove the clamp and the shims from the flap control lever.
(e)
Move the flap control lever to the UP detent.

Do a check of the adjustment of the flap follow-up cables WFFA and WFFB (Fig. 501):
(a)
Make sure the marks on the shaft and the shaft retainer align in the limit of |0.03 inch (Fig. 504).
(b)
If the marks do not align in the limit, adjust the flap power unit: 1) Move the flap bypass valve to the BYPASS (position 2)
position. 2) If the transmission upstops do not touch, turn the torque tubes until the marks align in the limit.
