Slowly turn each AOA sensor between its stops (approximately 70°).
(a)
Make sure that only light torque is necessary to turn the sensor.
(b)
Make sure that there is no change in the torque.

Attach a test calibrator to each AOA sensor.
(a)
Set each AOA sensor trailing edge down 20 |1° from zero.

Do a check of the left AOA input to SMC 1:
(a)
Push the MENU button on the SMC maintenance control panel on the front of SMC 1.
(b)
Make sure that the SMC 1 display shows ARINC TESTS?.
(c)
Push the NO button on SMC 1.
(d)
Make sure that the SMC 1 display shows SENSOR TESTS?
(e)
Push the YES button on SMC 1.
(f)
Make sure that the ALPHA value on the SMC 1 display is -20 |1° - aerodynamic offset.
NOTE: The aerodynamic offset is written on the trailing edge

of the left AOA sensor.
(g)
Turn the left AOA sensor to -14°.
(h)
Make sure that the value on the SMC 1 display is -14 |1° - aerodynamic offset.
(i)
Turn the left AOA sensor to 0°.
(j)
Make sure that the value on the SMC 1 display is 0 |1° - aerodynamic offset.

Remove the calibrators from the two AOA sensors.
