AOA Sensor Test


 S 484-043-002
 (1)  
Attach a test calibrator to the AOA sensor.

 S 864-045-002

 (2)  
Supply electrical power (AMM 24-22-00/201).

 (3)  
Do a test of the AOA sensor input to the SMC:


 NOTE: Use SMC 1 to do this test if you replaced the left AOA
____ sensor, or use SMC 2 if you replaced the right AOA sensor.
 (a)  
Turn the AOA sensor to trailing edge down to -20 |1°.

 (b)  
Push the ON/OFF button on the SMC maintenance control panel on the front of the applicable SMC.

 (c)  
Make sure that the display on the SMC shows TEST IN PROGRESS and then SYSTEM OK.

 (d)  
Push the MENU button.

 (e)  
Make sure that the display shows PRESENT FAULTS?.

 (f)  
Push the down button as many times as necessary until the display shows GROUND TESTS?

 (g)  
Push the YES button.

 (h)  
Make sure that the display shows DISCRETE INPUTS?.

 (i)  
Push the down button as many times as necessary until the display shows SENSOR TESTS?

 (j)  
Push the YES button.

 (k)  
Make sure that the ALPHA value on the SMC display is -20 |1° - aerodynamic offset (left AOA sensor) or -20 |1° + aerodynamic offset (right AOA sensor).


 NOTE: The aerodynamic offset is written on the trailing edge

 of the AOA sensor.

 (l)  
Turn the AOA sensor to 0 |1°.

 (m)  
Make sure that the ALPHA value on the SMC display is 0 |1° - aerodynamic offset (left AOA sensor) or 0 |1° + aerodynamic offset (right AOA sensor).

 (n)  
Turn the AOA sensor trailing edge up to 20 |1°.

 (o)  
Make sure that the ALPHA value on the SMC display is 20 |1° - aerodynamic offset (left AOA sensor) or 20 |1° + aerodynamic offset (right AOA sensor). 1) Push the ON/OFF button on the SMC.

 (4)  
Remove the calibrator from the AOA sensor.

 (7)  S 864-041-002Remove electrical power (AMM 24-22-00/201).
