Stall Warning Operational Test (Confidence Test)


 S 715-070-002
 (1)  
Do an operational test of the No. 1 stall warning system:

 (a)  
Push and hold the STALL WARNING TEST NO. 1 switch on the stall warning test module (P5-18 overhead panel).

 (b)  
Make sure that the captain's control column shaker operates both columns.

 (c)  
Release the switch.

 (d)  
Make sure that the control column shaker stops.

 (2)  
Do an operational test of the No. 2 stall warning system:

 (a)  
Push and hold the STALL WARNING TEST NO. 2 switch on the stall warning test module.

 (b)  
Make sure that the first officer's control column shaker operates both columns.

 (c)  
Release the switch.

 (d)  
Make sure that the control column shaker stops.

SMC Discrete Inputs Test

 (1)  Push the ON/OFF button on the SMC maintenance control panel on the front of each SMC.
 NOTE: During the system test, it is not necessary to push the
____ buttons on the two computers at the same time. Also, it is not necessary that the displays on the two computers operate at the same time.
 (a)  Make sure that the display on each computer shows TEST IN PROGRESS and then shows SYSTEM OK.

Do a check of the SMC program pins:

 (a)  
Push each MENU button.

 (b)  
Make sure that each display shows PRESENT FAULTS?.

 (c)  
Push each down button as many times as necessary until each display shows GROUND TESTS?.

 (d)  
Push each YES button.

 (e)  
Make sure that each display shows DISCRETE INPUTS?.

 (f)  
Push each YES button.

 (g)  
Make sure that each display shows PROG PIN 0 GND.

 (h)  
Push each down button.

 (i)  
Make sure that each display shows PROG PIN 1 OPEN.

 (j)  
Push each down button.

 (k)  
Make sure that each display shows PROG PIN 2 GND.

 (l)  
Push each down button.

 NOTE: The Parity Bit is used as a check of the program data bits.
____ The parity bit is grounded or left open depending on the number of bits grounded in the data word. The parity bit is used to make sure an even number of inputs are grounded (including the parity bit itself). Program pins 0 through 7 are the program data bits.

Do a check of the engine N1 valid inputs to the SMC:

 (a)  
Push each down button.

 (b)  
Make sure that each display shows ASYMMETRY NO.

 (c)  
Push each down button.

 (d)  
Make sure that each display shows N1 VALID VALID.

 (e)  
Open these circuit breakers on the P6-2 panel:
 1) EIS PRIMARY NO. 1
 2) EIS PRIMARY NO. 3


 (f)  
Make sure that each display shows N1 VALID INVALID.

 (g)  
Close these circuit breakers on the P6-2 panel:
 1) EIS PRIMARY NO. 1
 2) EIS PRIMARY NO. 3

Do a check of the takeoff/go-around input to the SMC:
