1  THE "B" DIMENSION IS MEASURED BETWEEN THE CENTER OF THE UPPER AND LOWER GIMBAL PINS
2  THE TRIM SYSTEM CAN MOVE THE STABILIZER TO A POSITION MORE THAN THE LIMITS THAT WERE SET DURING THE ADJUSTMENT OF THE LIMIT SWITCHES. THIS CONDITION IS USUAL. THUS, THE B DIMENSION TOLERANCES FOR THE TEST ARE LARGER THAN THE TOLERANCES FOR THE ADJUSTMENT.

Adjust the limit switches:

 (a)  
With the stabilizer leading edge in the full down position (airplane nose up), Verify that the roller on switches S115 and S144 can be rotated away from the surface of the cam by a minimum of 0.032 inch.

 (b)  
With the stabilizer leading edge in the full up position (airplane nose down), Verify that the roller on switches S145 and S844 can be rotated away from the surface of the cam by a minimum of 0.032 inch.

 (c)  
Tighten the switch nut.

 (d)  
Install a lockwire on the switch nut and the mounting bracket.


 (e) Tighten the switch arm nut to 20-25 pound-inches. ú ú S 715-016 ú (5) Do this task: "Stabilizer Trim Limit Switches Test" ú (AMM 27-41-94/501).

 3. Stabilizer Trim Limit Switches Test

 A. General
 (1)  
The trim system can move the stabilizer to a position more than the limits that were set during the adjustment of the limit switches. This condition is usual. Thus the dimension B tolerances for the test are larger than the tolerances for the adjustment.
