CAUTION: MAKE SURE THE CHAIN IS LOOSE BEFORE YOU RELEASE THE CABLE
_______ TENSION. YOU CAN APPLY TOO MUCH RIGGING LOAD AND CAUSE DAMAGE TO THE CHAIN.

Adjust the aft support linkage of the forward mechanism to loosen the chain.

Loosen the turnbuckle (7) to release the cable tension.

Remove the drip shield (if installed) from the bottom of the gear housing.

Remove the cable guards (3).

Remove the STA cable from the bottom of the drum (4) and tag for installation.

Put a 50 pound load on the trim control wheel to extend the STB cable.
NOTE: This will make the removal of the STA cable easier.

Disconnect the flexible shaft (2) from the forward mechanism.

Turn the trim control wheel until the chain connector link is between the idler sprocket (9) and the forward mechanism sprocket (5).

Disconnect the chain assembly (10) at the connector link.

Make sure the loose ends of the chain are clear of the forward mechanism.

Remove the STB cable from the top edge of the drum (4) and tag for installation.
(15)
Remove the turnbuckle mounting bolt (6).
