 (1)  
Apply a layer of grease to all the bolts.

 (2)  
Install the torque tube:

 (a)  
Hold the torque tube in its position.

 (b)  
Install the second bolts (14) from the forward end in the left and right side plate assemblies. 1) Install the left bolt with the bolt head inboard and the

 right bolt with the bolt head outboard.

 (c)  
Install the forward quadrant mounting bolts (9) and the bushings.


 NOTE: Install the left and right bolts with the bolt heads
____
 inboard.

 1)  Tighten the nut to 90-105 pound-inches plus the run-on nut of 30-35 pound-inches.
 CAUTION: EXAMINE THE INNER AND THE OUTER RODS/BOLTS FOR DAMAGE
_______ BEFORE YOU INSTALL THE ROD END BOLTS. DAMAGE TO EQUIPMENT COULD OCCUR.
 (d)  Install the mounting bolts and the bushings of the reaction link (8).
 NOTE: Install the left bolt with the bolt head inboard and
____ the right bolt with the bolt head outboard.
 (e)  Install the mounting bolts and the bushings of the power unit (7).
 NOTE: Install the left bolt with the bolt head inboard and
____ the right bolt with the bolt head outboard.
 1)  Tighten the nut to 550-600 pound-inches plus the run-on nut of 225-250 pound-inches.
 (f)  
Drill the diameter of the four 0.247/0.250 inch holes in the center bearing retainer ring (11) to 0.263/0.266 inch.

 (g)  
Use the drill centering guide adapter to make sure the holes are not out tolerance.

 (h)  
Attach the retaining ring to the bracket with BACB30CU8-8 lockbolts or BACB30FP8-8 hi-lock fasteners.

 (i)  
Connect the input rods of the power control units (10).

 1)  Tighten the outer bolt to 45-60 pound-inches and the nut to 15-20 pound-inches and make sure that the bolt head points left.

 (j)
Connect the output rod of the feel and centering unit (1).

 1)  Tighten the outer bolt to 45-60 pound-inches and the nut to 15-20 pound-inches.

 (k)  
Connect the autopilot sensor rod (13) at the aft end.

 (l)  
Connect the autopilot actuator rod (12) at the lower rod end.

 (m)  Connect the EAL, EBL, EAR, and EBR control cables to the quadrants on the torque tube.
