At the No. 4 transmission, measure the dimension X. Refer to this as the dimension X2.

 (i)  
Measure and make a record of the dimension X2 with the flap control lever in the 25, 15, 10, 5, 2, 1-unit, and UP detents.

 (j)  
Use the dimension X1 to find the X2 - X1 dimensions for Table 501.

 (k)  
Make sure the actual X2 - X1 dimensions are in the limits shown in Table 501.

 (16) Do a test of the trailing edge flaps hydraulic operation time:
 NOTE: You must use a hydraulic service cart set to 20 gpm and
____ 3000 psi or the engine-driven pump to do this part of the test.
 (a)  
Move the flap control lever from the UP detent to the 40-unit detent.

 (b)  
Make sure the time necessary to extend the flaps is 38.5 |5 seconds.


 NOTE: You must measure the time from the flaps retracted to
____ the flaps extended position. The flaps are in the fully extended position when the clearance between the No. 4 ballscrew nut and the downstop is 1.50 |0.20 inches.
 (c)  
Move the flap control lever from the 40-unit to the UP detent.

 (d)  
Make sure the time necessary to retract the flaps is 38.5 |5 seconds.

 Do a test of the alternate drive system for the trailing edge flaps:

Open these circuit breaker:

 1)  P6-2 Panel
 a) ALT TE FLAP DRIVE AC


 (b)  
Make sure this circuit breaker is closed:


 1)  P6-2 Panel
 a) FLAP VALVES

 (c)  Move the ALTERNATE FLAP arm switch to the ARM position.
 NOTE:____ The standby hydraulic pump motor will operate when the ALTERNATE FLAP arm switch is in the ARM position.
 (d) (e) (f)  Move the flap control lever. 1) Make sure the flaps do not operate.Close this circuit breaker: 1) P6-2 Panel a) ALT TE FLAP DRIVE ACMove the flap control lever to the 40-unit detent.
 NOTE:____ The load on the flap hydraulic motor is less with the flap control lever in the 40-unit detent and the hydraulic system B pressurized.
