Remove the three mounting bolts that attach the actuator to the jackscrew gearbox.

Remove the actuator.

 (d)  
Put a cover on the mounting pad to keep unwanted materials out of the jackscrew gearbox.

 S 034-006
 (1)  
Remove the cover from the mounting pad.

 S 864-007

 (2)  
Make sure that the mating surfaces of the actuator and the jackscrew gearbox are clean.

 S 164-012

 (3)  
Clean the mating surfaces at the forward attach bolt for electrical bond.

 S 424-008

 (4)  
Install the actuator:

 (a)  
Engage the actuator splined shaft with the internal spline of the jackscrew gearbox.

 (b)  
Install the mounting bolts, the washers, and the nuts.

 (c)  Install electrical connector(s).
 (5)  S 864-009Remove the DO-NOT-CLOSE tags and close these circuit breakers: (a) AIRPLANE WITH PRIMARY STABILIZER TRIM ACTUATOR; P18-0 Circuit Breaker Panel 1) AUTOPILOT STABILIZER TRIM SERVO
 (6)  S 714-010Do a test of the actuator (AMM 27-41-71/501).
 (7)  S 414-011Close the access door 3701.

 A.  This procedure has one task. The task is a test of the primary
 stabilizer trim actuator.

Procedure


 S 015-001
 (1)  
Open the access door 3701.

 S 865-002

 (2)
Do this task: "Supply Electrical Power" (AMM 24-22-00/201).

 S 715-003

 (3)  
Do a test of the stabilizer trim electric actuator or primary stabilizer trim actuator:

 (a)  
Set the flaps to the 5-unit position. 1) Set the left STAB TRIM switch to NOSE DN. a) Make sure that the stabilizer leading edge moves up. 2) Set the left STAB TRIM switch to NOSE UP. a) Make sure that the stabilizer leading edge moves down. 3) Set the right STAB TRIM switch to NOSE DN. a) Make sure that the stabilizer leading edge moves up.


 4)  Set the right STAB TRIM switch to NOSE UP. a) Make sure that the stabilizer leading edge moves down.
 CAUTION: MAKE SURE THE ELECTRIC ACTUATOR HAS A MINIMUM OF 13
_______ MINUTES OFF FOR EVERY 2 MINUTES OPERATION. IF YOU DO NOT GIVE THE ACTUATOR SUFFICIENT TIME OFF, IT CAN CAUSE DAMAGE TO THE ELECTRIC ACTUATOR.
