STABILIZER FORWARD CONTROL MECHANISM - REMOVAL/INSTALLATION

1. General_______
A. This procedure has two tasks, one for the removal and one for the installation of the stabilizer forward control mechanism (which is referred to as the forward mechanism). The procedure has these parts:
(1)
The removal of the forward mechanism
(2)
The installation of the replacement forward mechanism.

A. Standard Tools and Equipment
(1)
Tensiometer - 0-200 pounds capacity
(2)
Spring Scale - 0-50 pounds capacity

Supply electrical power (AMM 24-22-00/201).

Make sure you close these circuit breakers:
(a)
P6-2 Circuit Breaker Panel
1) PRIMARY STAB TRIM ACTUATOR
2) STABILIZER TRIM CONT
(3)
Move the stabilizer to the full APL NOSE UP position.

Open these circuit breakers and attach DO-NOT-CLOSE tags:
(a)
P6-2 Circuit Breaker Panel 1) STABILIZER TRIM ACTUATOR or PRIMARY STAB TRIM ACTUATOR
(b)
P18-0 Circuit Breaker Panel (Airplanes with Primary Stab Trim Actuator) 1) AUTOPILOT STABILIZER TRIM SERVO
