 D. Remove the Filter Element (Fig. 201)
 S 012-002
 (1) Open the left fan cowl on the applicable engine (AMM 71-11-02/201).

 WARNING:_______DO NOT TOUCH THE OIL SYSTEM PARTS WHEN THEY ARE HOT. THESE PARTS STAY HOTTER THAN THE OTHER ENGINE PARTS AFTER AN ENGINE SHUTDOWN. OIL SYSTEM PARTS THAT ARE HOT CAN BURN YOU.
 DO NOT LET THE OIL TOUCH YOUR SKIN FOR A LONG TIME. YOU CAN ABSORB POISONOUS MATERIALS FROM THE OIL THROUGH YOUR SKIN. OIL ON YOUR SKIN CAN CAUSE DERMATITIS AFTER A LONG TIME.
 (2)  Remove the 4 screws and the 4 washers from the filter cap.
 S 022-019
 CAUTION: IMMEDIATELY REMOVE ALL OF THE OIL THAT FALLS ON THE ENGINE
_______ PARTS. OIL CAN CAUSE DAMAGE TO THE PAINT AND SOME RUBBER PARTS.
 (3)  
Pull the filter cap and the filter element out of the oil filter hole.

 (a)  Discard the O-ring that is in the filter cap.

 (4)  
Pull the filter element and the filter cap apart.

 NOTE: If the O-ring does not move freely, twist and pull on the
____ filter element. This will help you to to remove it from the filter cap.
 (a)  Discard the 2 O-rings that are at each end of the filter element.

 (b)  Discard the filter element.
 S 162-020 CAUTION: DO NOT LET THE OIL FILTER HOLE STAY OPEN FOR A LONG TIME.
_______ CONTAMINATION CAN GET INTO THE OIL FILTER HOLE AND CAUSE DAMAGE TO THE CSD.
 (5) Clean the oil filter hole with a lintfree cloth and some CSD oil.
 E.  Install a New Filter Element (Fig. 201).
 S 642-021 CAUTION: DURING MAINTENANCE ON THE OIL SYSTEM, MAKE SURE THAT YOU KEEP
_______ ALL OF THE PARTS CLEAN. CONTAMINATION CAN CAUSE DAMAGE TO THE GENERATOR DRIVE.
 DO NOT USE ALKALINE CLEANING FLUIDS TO CLEAN THE PARTS OF THE OIL SYSTEM. DO NOT LET ALKALINE CLEANING FLUIDS OR HYDRAULIC FLUID TOUCH THE GENERATOR DRIVE OIL. VERY SMALL QUANTITIES OF THESE FLUIDS CAN CAUSE THE OIL TO CHEMICALLY CHANGE. THIS CAN CAUSE DAMAGE TO THE GENERATOR DRIVE.
 (1)  
Lubricate the 3 new O-rings with a small quantity of CSD oil. S 432-008

 (2)  
Install the O-ring to the inner end of the filter element.

 (3)  
Install the O-ring on the outer end of the filter element.
 S 432-010


 (4)  
Install the O-ring in the filter cap.
