Below the pressure-fill valve is the overfill drain fitting. It drains oil from the VSCF when there is too much oil in the reservoir. The caps for the pressure-fill valve and the overfill drain fitting are connected together. This makes sure that you remove the overfill drain fitting before you fill the VSCF with oil. It also makes sure that you install the cap on the overfill drain fitting again.

AIRPLANES WITH -19 AND ON VSCF; Below the pressure-fill valve is the vacuum break valve. The vacuum break valve is not removed when the VSCF is filled with oil.
(d)
The pressure-fill valve for the spline cavity is on the bottom and aft side of the VSCF. This valve lets you add oil to the spline cavity that is between the VSCF and the accessory gearbox.
(4) Indication
(a)
The oil overheat switch will close when the temperature of the oil from the oil cooler increases to 315 degrees F (157 degrees C). This will make the HIGH OIL TEMP light on the P5-5 panel come on.
(b)
AIRPLANES WITH -14 VSCF; When the oil pressure in the VSCF decreases below approximately 8 psig (55 kPa), the low oil pressure switch closes and the LOW OIL PRESSURE or DRIVE light on the P5-5 panel comes on.
(c)
AIRPLANES WITH -15 VSCF; The LOW OIL PRESSURE or DRIVE light on the P5-5 panel, is illuminated by an underspeed relay. The LOW OIL PRESSURE or DRIVE light on the P5-5 panel comes on when the VSCF speed is below 1370 rpm.
(d)
The oil-in and oil-out temperature sensors are connected to the GEN DRIVE OIL TEMP meters on the P5-5 panel. The meter indication is related to the position of the DRIVE TEMP switch. 1) When the DRIVE TEMP switch is set to IN, the GEN DRIVE OIL
TEMP meters show the temperature of the oil that goes into each VSCF. During usual operation, the temperature of the oil that goes into the VSCF can be less than 40 °C. The VSCF makes less heat than the CSD and generator. This lets the oil cooler supply oil at a lower temperature.
