Prepare to Remove the CSD and the Generator
S 864-047-001
(1) AIRPLANES WITHOUT GENERATOR DRIVE OIL NO. 1 (OR NO. 2) LOW PRESS CIRCUIT BREAKER; Open these circuit breakers and attach DO-NOT-CLOSE identifiers:
(a)
P6-3 Circuit Breaker Panel:
1) SEC 1 (or SEC 2)
(b)
P6-4 Circuit Breaker Panel
1) GENERATOR DRIVE OIL NO. 1 (or NO. 2) TEMP
2) NO. 1 (or NO. 2) CSD CONT.

(2) AIRPLANES WITH GENERATOR DRIVE OIL NO. 1 (OR NO. 2) LOW PRESS CIRCUIT BREAKER; Open these circuit breakers and attach DO-NOT-CLOSE identifiers:
(a) P6-4 Circuit Breaker Panel
1) GENERATOR DRIVE OIL NO. 1 (or NO. 2) LOW PRESS
2) GENERATOR DRIVE OIL NO. 1 (or NO. 2) TEMP
3) NO. 1 (or NO. 2) CSD CONT.

(3) Open the fan cowl panel on the applicable engine (AMM 71-11-02/201).

WARNING: MAKE SURE THAT YOU REMOVE THE ELECTRICAL POWER BEFORE YOU
_______ REMOVE THE GENERATOR. AN ELECTRICAL SHOCK CAN CAUSE INJURIES.
(4) Remove the electrical power from the airplane (AMM 24-22-00/201).Remove the CSD and the Generator

WARNING:_______USE CAUTION WHEN YOU DRAIN THE CSD OIL. USE CAUTION WHEN YOU REMOVE PARTS FROM THE CSD. MAKE SURE THAT YOU USE GOGGLES AND GLOVES. HOT OIL CAN CAUSE INJURIES.
CAUTION: MAKE SURE THAT YOU KEEP THE CSD CLEAN DURING THIS PROCEDURE.
_______ DO NOT LET UNWANTED MATERIAL GO INTO THE DRIVE SYSTEM. DIRT AND OTHER UNWANTED MATERIAL CAN CAUSE DAMAGE TO THE CSD.
(1) Disconnect these parts from the CSD and generator:

CAUTION: MAKE SURE THAT YOU DO NOT PULL ON THE WIRES THAT GO TO THE
_______ ELECTRICAL CONNECTOR. THE FORCE ON THE WIRES CAN CAUSE DAMAGE TO THE ELECTRICAL CONNECTOR.
(a)
Disconnect the main electrical connector from the CSD.
(b)
Disconnect the oil-in and the oil-out tubes. 1) Install a dustcover on the oil-in and the oil-out tubes.
(c)
Remove the pressure fill line from the CSD.
(d)
Remove the drain line from the output pad seal on the CSD.
1) Move the drain line from the output pad seal to a safe location.
(e)
Remove the collector ring but keep the wire bundles connected.

(2) Remove the generator (optional) (AMM 24-21-11/401).
NOTE: If you have access to the adapter, it is usual for you to

remove the CSD and the generator as a unit.

(3) If you remove the CSD and generator as a unit, remove these parts:
(a) Remove the bracket that holds the hydraulic tubes from the generator.
NOTE: Do not disconnect the hydraulic tubes from the bracket.

(b)
Remove the cooling air inlet duct from the generator blast cap.
(c)
Remove the tubing clamp from the duct.
(d)
Remove the clamps near the connectors for the blast cap.
(e)
Remove the inlet duct from the blast cap.
(f)
Remove the two fasteners that hold the clamp block to the collector ring.
(g)
Remove the clamp block from the collector ring.
NOTE: Make sure that you do not change the wires.

(h)
Remove the terminal block cover from the output terminal block on the generator.
(i)
Remove the generator output wires from the terminal block studs.
(j)
Remove the terminal block cover from the exciter terminal block.
(k)
Remove the exciter wires from the terminal block studs.
