Drain the oil from the CSD (AMM 12-13-21/301).

Drain the oil from the spline cavity (AMM 12-13-21/301).

Remove the CSD from the engine:
(a)
Connect the adapter to the CSD case.
(b)
Loosen the QAD tension bolt.
CAUTION: MAKE SURE THAT YOU APPLY ONLY SUFFICIENT PRESSURE WITH THE
_______ CSD CRADLE TO HOLD THE WEIGHT OF THE CSD. TOO MUCH PRESSURE ON THE CSD OR FAILURE TO HOLD THE CSD CORRECTLY CAN CAUSE DAMAGE TO THE INPUT SEAL.
(c)
Adjust the cradle assembly to remove the weight of the CSD from the QAD ring.
CAUTION:_______DO NOT HIT THE TENSION BOLT ON THE QAD RING. DO NOT PUT A DRIFT THROUGH THE HOLE IN THE QAD RING BRACKET. THIS CAN CAUSE DAMAGE TO THE TENSION BOLT OR THE QAD RING BRACKET.
(d)
Remove the tension bolt from the QAD ring.
(e)
Turn the QAD ring until the lock lugs disengage.
NOTE: If it is necessary, lightly hit the lock ring boss
____ on the QAD ring with a brass drift and a plastic mallet.
CAUTION: DO NOT USE THE CSD INPUT SHAFT TO HOLD THE WEIGHT OF THE
_______ CSD. TOO MUCH WEIGHT ON THE CSD INPUT SHAFT CAN CAUSE DAMAGE TO THE INPUT SHAFT SEAL.
MOVE THE CSD IN A STRAIGHT LINE. IF THE INPUT SHAFT CATCHES, YOU CAN CAUSE DAMAGE TO INPUT SHAFT SEAL.
(f) Remove the CSD from the engine.

NOTE: Boeing F70333-24 consists of a commercially available____ jack plus the F70333-25 Adapter Assembly. The F70333-24 holds the CSD and generator during removal and installation.
