Assemble the Battery Hoist: 1) Put the foot assembly of the battery hoist on the frame of the electronic compartment access door (Fig. 202). 2) Attach the foot assembly of the battery hoist to the airplane structure, and put a pin through it. 3) Lift the leg assembly through the access door and attach to the foot assembly.
4) Attach the leg assembly of the battery hoist to the foot assembly, and put a pin through it.
(c)
Move the arm of the hoist above the battery and connect the spreader bar to the battery.

(d) Turn the crank to lift the battery out of the tray.
WARNING: DO NOT GO BELOW THE BATTERY WHICH HANGS FROM THE BATTERY
_______ HOIST. DO NOT MOVE THE BATTERY SUCH THAT IT IS ABOVE YOUR HEAD DURING THE REMOVAL/INSTALLATION PROCEDURE. THE LINE THAT HOLDS THE BATTERY CAN BREAK AND CAUSE INJURY TO PERSONS.
(e)
Turn the hoist until the battery is above the electronic compartment access door.
(f)
Turn the crank to lower the battery on a cart or a hand-truck.

(9) Keep the BAT switch in the OFF position and the circuit breakers open until you install the battery again.
