(a) Make sure that the VSCF FAULT and the AIRCRAFT OPEN PHASE lights come on.

Release the LAMP TEST button on the VSCF.

Push and hold the switch on the VSCF to INDICATE.
(a) Make sure that the VSCF FAULT and the AIRCRAFT OPEN PHASE lights go off. 1) If the VSCF FAULT light is on, do the following step:
a) Do trouble-shooting the AC Generation System (AMM 24-21-00/101). 2) If the AIRCRAFT OPEN PHASE light is on, do as follows: a) Do trouble-shooting to the power feeder cables and the main power circuit breakers (AMM 24-21-00/101). b) Supply electrical power from the engine generator (AMM 24-22-00/201).
NOTE: This will operate the VSCF and remove the
____ AIRCRAFT OPEN PHASE failure indication.

Make sure that the applicable DRIVE or LOW OIL PRESSURE light on the P5-5 panel goes off.

Make sure that the ac meters switch is set to the applicable GEN 1 or GEN 2 position.
(a)
Make sure that the frequency meter shows 400 | 5 Hz.
(b)
Make sure that the ac voltmeter shows 115 | 5 volts.
(c)
Push and release the applicable GEN 1 or GEN 2 switch to ON.
1) Make sure that the applicable GEN OFF BUS No. 1 or No. 2 light goes off.
(d)
Momentarily push the GRD PWR or the APU GEN No. 1 and No. 2 switches to ON.

3. System Load Test - Variable Speed Constant Frequency Generator/Converter________________________________________________________________________
A. General
(1)
This test will make sure that the variable speed constant frequency generator/converter (VSCF) will supply power to loads correctly. During this test, it is necessary to operate the engine and connect the VSCF to loads. The loads that you will use are the lights, air conditioning, fuel boost pumps, hydraulic pumps and galleys.
(2)
The VSCF is on the accessory gearbox at the 8 o'clock position.
