 (a)  
Make sure that the applicable LOW OIL PRESSURE or DRIVE light No. 1 or No. 2 on the P5-4 panel goes off.

 (b)  
Make sure that the ac voltmeter shows 115 | 5 volts.

 

 (c)
Make sure that the frequency meter shows 400 | 5 Hz.Disconnect the CSD.

 CAUTION: DO NOT DISCONNECT THE CSD UNLESS THE ENGINE SPEED IS AT OR
_______ ABOVE THE MINIMUM IDLE. DAMAGE CAN OCCUR WHEN THE CSD DOES NOT FULLY DISCONNECT.
 DO NOT PUSH THE DISCONNECT SWITCH FOR MORE THAN 3 SECONDS. LET AT LEAST 60 SECONDS GO BY BEFORE YOU PUSH THE DISCONNECT SWITCH AGAIN. TOO MUCH OPERATION OF THE DISCONNECT MECHANISM CAN CAUSE DAMAGE TO THE CSD.
 (1)  Operate the DISCONNECT switch as follows:
 (a)  If the DISCONNECT switch guard has lockwire in it, remove the lockwire.

 (b)
Lift the DISCONNECT switch guard.

 (c)
Push the DISCONNECT switch momentarily.


 F. Make Sure that the CSD Disconnected Correctly.

 (1)
Make sure that the ac voltmeter shows 0 volts.

 (2)
Make sure that these lights are on:

 (a)
LOW OIL PRESSURE or DRIVE (P5-5 panel)

 (b)
ELEC (P7 lightshield panel)

 (c)
MASTER CAUTION (P7 lightshield panel)

 


 G. Connect the CSD to the Engine Again.

 CAUTION: DO NOT TRY TO CONNECT THE CSD AGAIN WHILE THE ENGINE OPERATES.

 THIS CAN CAUSE DAMAGE TO THE CSD.

 (1)  Shut down the engine (AMM 71-00-00/201). (a) Permit the N1 and N2 rotors to stop.
 (2)  S 865-029-001Lower the guard on the DISCONNECT switch. (a) If there was lockwire in the DISCONNECT switch guard when you disconnected the CSD, install new lockwire.
 (3)  S 015-030-001Open the left fan cowl (AMM 71-11-02/201).
 (4)  S 755-031-001Pull lightly on the T-handle that is below the CSD. (a) If the T-handle moves in and out easily, the CSD did not disconnect.
 (5)  S 865-032-001Pull down on the T-handle until you feel a click.

 H. Make Sure that the CSD is Connected to the Engine Again.
 S 865-033-001
 (1)  
Do the engine dry motor procedure at 15 to 30% N2 rotor speed (AMM 71-00-00/201).

 (2)  
Make sure the generator drive oil temperature gage on the P5-5 panel shows a small temperature increase.

 (3)  
Make sure the LOW OIL PRESSURE or DRIVE light on the P5-5 panel goes off.

 (4)  
Stop the engine (AMM 71-00-00/201).

 (5)  
Close the left fan cowl (AMM 71-11-02/201).

 1.  BITE Test - Variable Speed Constant Frequency Generator/Converter_________________________________________________________________
 A. General
 (1)  
This procedure uses the built-in test equipment (BITE) circuits in the variable speed constant frequency generator/converter (VSCF). A latch relay will keep a failure indication if a malfunction occurs in the VSCF during operation.
