Make sure that the engine is stopped (AMM 71-00-00/201).

Open the left fan cowl (AMM 71-11-02/201).

Remove the adjustment cap to get access to the adjustment screw.

 (a)  
Remove the two screws and washers from the adjustment cap on the CSD.

 (b)  
Pull the adjustment cap away from the CSD.

 (4)  Adjust the CSD output speed to get a frequency of 400 | 4 Hz.
 (a)  Put a screwdriver into the adjustment screw slot.

 (b)  
Push in and turn the screwdriver until the adjustment screw engages the governor adjustment screw.

 (c)  
Turn the adjustment screw clockwise to increase the frequency, or turn it counterclockwise to decrease the frequency.


 NOTE: One full turn of the adjustment screw will change the
____ frequency by approximately 14 Hz.

 CAUTION: DO NOT OPERATE THE ENGINES ABOVE IDLE WITH THE ENGINE FAN COWL
_______ PANELS OPEN. THIS CAN CAUSE DAMAGE TO THE ENGINES AND FAN COWL PANELS.

Supply engine generator power (AMM 24-22-00/201).

Make sure that the frequency meter on the P5-13 panel shows 400 | 4 Hz.


 (a)  If the frequency is not in limits, adjust the CSD again until the frequency is OK.

Remove engine generator power (AMM 24-22-00/201).

 (8)  
Install the adjustment cap and the O-ring on the adjustment screw.

 (a)  
Attach the adjustment cap with the two screws and washers.

 (b)  
Torque the screws from 20 to 22 pound-inches.

If oil leakage from the CSD occurred during adjustment, fill the CSD with oil again (AMM 12-13-21/301).

 Close the left fan cowl (AMM 71-11-02/201).

 2. Generator Constant Speed Drive Test
___________________________________
 A. General
 (1)  
This is a test of the disconnect mechanism in the CSD. When the CSD has low oil pressure or high oil temperature, you can disconnect it to keep damage to a minimum. You can connect the CSD again only on the ground.

 (2)  
The CSD is on the accessory gearbox at the 8 o'clock position.

Prepare for the CSD Test.

 (1)  
Supply external or APU generator power (AMM 24-22-00/201).

 (2)  
Turn the ac meters switch on the P5-13 panel to the applicable GEN 1 or GEN 2 position.

 (3)  
Momentarily push the applicable GEN 1 or GEN 2 switch on the P5-4 panel to ON.

 (4)  
Start the engine and operate it at idle (AMM 71-00-00/201).
