(1) Turn the BAT switch on the electrical systems control panel P5 to the ON position.

Push the GEN 1 or GEN 2 switch to ON.

Operate the engine (AMM 71-00-00/201).
(a) Make sure that the TRANSFER BUS OFF, BUS OFF, and GEN OFF BUS lights above GEN 1 and GEN 2 switches come on.
NOTE: The GEN 1 and GEN 2 switches are on the panel P5.

(b)
Make sure that the DRIVE or LOW OIL PRESSURE light on the panel P5-5 goes off.
(c)
Operate the engine at minimum power for approximately 3 minutes to permit the generator drive to come to satisfactory temperature.
(d)
Make sure that the RISE temperature indication on the GEN DRIVE OIL TEMP meter on the P5-5 panel is below the limit.

(4) Push the switch S2 on the annunciator lights module M238 on the right load control center P6 to TEST.
(a) Make sure that the HV, LV, FF, and MT lights which are below the GEN 1 for engine 1 come on.
NOTE: The light will go off when you release the switch.

(b) Make sure that the HV, LV, FF, and MT lights which are below the GEN 2 for engine 2 come on.
NOTE: The light will go off when you release the switch.

Push the ERASE switch S1 on the M238 module.

Put the AC meter selector switch on the panel P5 to GEN 1 or GEN 2, while it is applicable.
(a) Make sure that the voltmeter on the panel P5 shows 115 |5 volts ac.

(b) Make sure that the frequency meter shows 400 | 5 Hz.

(7) With the engine 1 on, turn the GEN 1 switch to ON.
NOTE: This will supply power to the 115-volt ac generator bus 1.
