F. Procedure

(1)
Remove the CSD (1, Fig. 202) and generator (2) (AMM 24-11-11/401).

Remove the necessary parts from the CSD (1) and generator (2):

(a)
Remove the two screws (18) and washers (19) that hold the attachment bracket (20) on the generator (2).

(b)
Remove the attachment bracket (20).

(d)
Remove the wire support bracket (24).

(e)
Remove the remaining screw (26) and washer (27) that hold the blast cover adapter (25) on the generator (2).

(f)
Remove the blast cover adapter (25).

(g)
Remove the parts from the oil inlet port of the CSD (1):

NOTE: You will keep the parts installed in the oil outlet port
____ for the subsequent installation of the CSD.
1) Remove the elbow (44).
2) Remove the nut (43).
3) Remove the retainer (42).

4) 5) Remove the O-ring (41) and discard it.Keep the elbow (44), nut (43), and retainer (42) for installation on the VSCF.
NOTE:____ The VSCF installation procedure contains steps to install these parts.

(3) Remove the parts from the engine that you will not use for the VSCF installation:
(a) (b) (c) (d) (e) (f) (g) (h) Remove the cap (50).Remove the nut (49).Remove the quick-disconnect coupling (48).Remove the oil fill hose (46).Remove the clamps (29) for the drain tube (28).Remove the drain tube (28).Remove the O-ring (31) from the union (30) and discard it.Install the clamps (29) for the subsequent installation of the drain tube when you install a CSD.
NOTE:____ This step is optional. If you will not install a CSD subsequently, you can discard the clamps.

(4) Disconnect the hose support bracket (14): (a) Remove the clamps (8, 9, and 10) from the hose support bracket (14). (b) Remove the hose support bracket (14). (c) Remove the clamps (8, 9, and 10) from the hoses.

(5) Install the DPCT wire harness if it is not on the engine (Fig. 204): (a) Connect the DPCT connector assembly with 2 bolts, 2 washers, and 2 nuts.
(b) Connect the DPCT wire harness to the engine with 6 clamps.

(6) Prepare the DPCT wire harness if it is installed (Fig. 204): (a) Remove the flexible sleeves from the DPCT terminals. (b) Remove the tying material that holds the DPCT harness to the generator output cable.

(7) Install the parts in the oil outlet port of the VSCF (1, Fig. 203) if it does not have them:
(a) (b) (c) Lubricate a new O-ring (10) with oil.Put the nut (12), retainer (11), and O-ring (10) on the elbow (13).Install the elbow (13) into the oil outlet port of the VSCF.
