Make sure that the bottom scale of the ac voltmeter shows less than 5 volts.

 (c)  
Release the RESID VOLTS button.

Do a shutdown of the engine (AMM 71-00-00/201).

Lower the guard on the DISCONNECT switch.

 (a)  If there was lockwire in the guard when you disconnected the VSCF, install new lockwire.

Do the Fault History Display Procedure to Connect the VSCF Again (Fig. 501).

On the P1-1 or P2-2 instrument panel, push the LIGHTS switch to BRT.

Open the CSD access door.

Push and hold the switch on the VSCF to DISC RESET.

Release the switch on the VSCF.

Close the CSD access door.

Make Sure that the VSCF Connected Correctly.

Start the engine (AMM 71-00-00/201).

Make sure that the applicable DRIVE or LOW OIL PRESSURE light on the P5-5 panel goes off.

Push and release the applicable GEN 1 or GEN 2 switch to ON.


 (a)  Make sure that the applicable GEN OFF BUS No. 1 or No. 2 light goes off.

 (4)  Make sure that the ac meters switch is set to the applicable GEN 1 or GEN 2 position.

Make sure that the frequency meter shows 400 | 5 Hz.

 (b)  
Make sure that the ac voltmeter shows 115 | 5 volts.

 GENERATOR CONSTANT SPEED DRIVE - INSPECTION/CHECK

 1.  General_______
 A. This procedure contains 2 tasks for the generator constant speed drive.
 (1)  
Generator drive check.

 (2)  
Oil filter (2 each) check.

 2.  Generator Drive Check_____________________
 A. General
 (1)  
This is a procedure to examine the internal condition of the constant speed drive. You use the magnetic plug in the CSD for indication.

 (2)  
The CSD has a magnetic plug which collects magnetic metal particles. The quantity of metal on the magnetic plug is an indication of the internal condition of the CSD.

 (3)  
The CSD has two oil filters. The integral oil filter is on the CSD and the line oil filter is near the generator drive oil cooler.

 (4)  
The CSD is on the accessory gearbox at the 8 o'clock position. The line oil filter is on the fan case at the 5 o'clock position.
