(a)
If it is necessary, assemble the leak tester.
(b)
Set the shutoff valve to OFF.
(c)
Set the regulator valve to OFF, to prevent pressurization of the generator drive system.
(d)
Connect the hose adapter to the pressure fill fitting on the CSD or the case pressure-fill fitting on the VSCF.

(2) Do the leak test.
(a) Connect the other end of the tester to a compressed air or regulated nitrogen source.
CAUTION: DO NOT PUT MORE THAN 50 PSIG INTO THE GENERATOR DRIVE
_______ SYSTEM. TOO MUCH PRESSURE CAN CAUSE DAMAGE TO THE GENERATOR DRIVE SYSTEM.
(b)
Turn the shutoff valve to ON and adjust the regulator to 25 PSIG.
(c)
Set the shutoff valve to OFF.
(d)
See that the pressure decreases a small quantity, and becomes stable at a constant pressure display.
NOTE: This pressure decrease occurs when the vent valve sets.

(e)
If the pressure continues to decrease, visually examine the oil system for leaks.
(f)
If you cannot find the leak, use a soap suds solution or a leak detector fluid to examine the oil system for leaks.
(g)
Remove the pressure from the generator drive.
