Tighten the nut (View C, Fig. 502) on the radius rod to 135 - 300 pound-inches.

I. Adjust The Door System Preload (Fig. 502 and 503.)

(1) Adjust the door system preload:
CAUTION: DO NOT STAND ON THE DOOR OR APPLY THE FORCE TO THE DOOR

WHEN YOU MAKE THIS ADJUSTMENT.
(a) Find the necessary shim thickness at the forward door stop to set the stop plate to touch the stop on the door (View E-E, Fig. 503).

(b) Operate the release handle to open the wheel well doors for the wing and body landing gears.

Complete the installation of the forward door stop with the necessary shim.
