 (4)  Install the bungee restraining tool.

 WARNING:_______THE UPPER DRAG STRUT WEIGHS APPROXIMATELY 120 POUNDS. MAKE SURE THE STRUT IS ADEQUATELY SUPPORTED BEFORE REMOVAL OF THE ATTACHING PINS.
 (5)  
Support the upper drag strut (1) with the sling and hoist.

 (6)  
Remove the drag strut apex pin assembly consisting of the apex bolt (12), lube insert (14), and o-rings (13).

 (a)  
Remove the nut (19), washer (18) and lockbolt (16).

 (b)  
Remove the nut (17), washer (15) and drag strut apex pin assembly.

Remove the upper drag strut spindle pin assembly consisting of the bolt (2), lube insert (3), and o-rings (4).

 (a)  
Remove the nut (10), washer (9) and lockbolt (8).

 (b)  
Remove the nut (7), washer (6) and spindle pin assembly.

 (8)  Remove the upper drag strut (1) from the airplane.
