BODY LANDING GEAR - REMOVAL/INSTALLATION

1. General_______
A. This subject covers two tasks:
(1)
The removal of the body landing gear
(2)
The installation of the body landing gear.
B.
To remove the body landing gear the following operations are necessary:
(1)
Install landing gear ground lockpins
(2)
Install wing and body gear door locks
(3)
Remove pressure from hydraulic systems No. 1 and 4.
(4)
Release the air pressure from the shock strut and install retention tool
(5)
Jack the airplane
(6)
Remove the body gear truck positioning actuator
(7)
Install body gear vertical strut stabilizer
(8)
Provide support and restraint for various components
(9)
Disconnect shock strut wire bundle and hydraulic hoses
(10)
Disconnect shock strut inboard and outboard door struts from landing gear
(11)
Disconnect lower end of retract actuator
(12)
Install the bungee restraining tool
(13)
Disconnect drag strut universal from gear
(14)
Remove keel beam access panel
(15)
Remove the body landing gear.
C.
To install the body landing gear the following operations are necessary:
(1)
Do a check of the body gear trunnion supports for corrosion
