WING GEAR SHOCK STRUT DOOR FAIRING - REMOVAL/INSTALLATION

1. General
_______
A. This procedure has these tasks:
(1)
The removal of the door fairing of the shock strut for the wing landing gear (referred to as the door fairing)
(2)
The installation of the door fairing (recommended procedure)
(3)
The installation of the door fairing (alternative procedure)
B.
Use the recommended installation procedure when you install a door fairing on a new inboard door.
C.
Use the alternative installation procedure to replace a door fairing on the door which is on the airplane.
D.
After the adjustment and the installation of a door fairing, you set the position of the fairing to the door. No subsequent adjustment of the fairing is possible. This is because you drilled the inboard door after the adjustment to align the pilot holes in the door fairing. The door fairing is then installed to the inboard door. If you replace the fairing (without the replacement of the inboard door), you must install the new fairing in the same position as the installed fairing.

(1) Install the ground locks in all landing gear (AMM 09-11-00/201).
