Remove the Air Charging Valve and Seal

WARNING: YOU MUST FULLY DEFLATE THE SHOCK STRUT BEFORE YOU REMOVE THE
_______ VALVE BODY. INTERNAL PRESSURE CAN BLOW THE VALVE OUT THAT CAN CAUSE INJURY TO PERSONS.
CAUTION: BEFORE YOU DEFLATE THE STRUT MAKE SURE THAT THE AREA BELOW THE
_______ WINGS IS CLEAR. WHEN YOU DEFLATE THE STRUT THE WING CAN LOWER MANY FEET, WHICH CAN CAUSE DAMAGE TO THE EQUIPMENT.
(1) Remove the air charging valve cap on the shock strut to release the pressure.
NOTE: When you decrease the pressure to ambient, the fluid in the
____ shock strut will start to foam immediately.
(a)
Loosen the outer nut to a maximum of two turns.
(b)
Deflate the shock strut slowly to prevent the loss of fluid through the air valve.

Lower the truck into pit or lift the airplane (Ref 07-11-01/201) until you get a minimum of 6 inches of chrome plating.

Install the upper seal replacement tool in the upper bulkhead.

Remove the mounting nut from the air valve adapter.

(5)
Remove the upper bulkhead nut and the lower upper bulkhead into the outer cylinder.
NOTE: It is possible to remove and disassemble the shock strut
____ if you let the bulkhead to fall into the shock strut.
(a) Make sure that the bulkhead does not fall into the shock strut.

Remove the adapter on the air charging valve through the upper bulkhead opening and remove the seal.
(a)
Make sure that the adapter does not fall into the shock strut.
