Apply a large quantity layer of grease on the O-rings (7), the lube insert (6), and the internal surface of the bolt (9).
(c)
Move the O-rings (7) to the lube insert (6).
(d)
If it is necessary, lubricate the lube insert (6).

Install the Lower Jury Strut

Lubricate the apex bolt (9) shank, the threads, the washers, and the nuts with grease.

Lift the lower jury strut to its position.
NOTE: You can put the downlock pin in to hold the strut in its

(a) Install the pin rotation stop and the apex bolt (9) of the side strut.

Install the bolt (8), the tang washer (11), and the flanged retainer (12).

Install the plain washer (13) and the castellated nut (14).
NOTE: Use the socket and the extension through the apex bolt to

hold the bolt head.
(a) Tighten the castellated nut (14) to 65-100 pound-inches.
NOTE: Apply 65 pound-inches torque initially to the nut.
____ (14). Align the bolt hole and nut castellation as you slowly increase the torque. Do not apply more than 100 pound-inches. If the nut castellations and bolt hole do not align after you reach 100 pound-inches, remove the nut (14). Install additional washer and perform the same procedure again until you align the bolt hole within 65-100 pound-inches.
(b) Install the hose bracket (15) and its related bushings, the lock pin and the clamp.

Fill the bottom of the hole above the bolt (8) with grease to a depth of 0.50 to 0.75 inches.

Install the lube insert assembly (6) in the apex bolt (9) and make sure that you align the lockbolt holes.

(7) S 432-024Install the lockbolt (10), the washer, and tighten the self-locking nut.
(8) S 432-025Install the apex bolt (5) for the jury strut from the forward side. (a) Install the tang washer and the castellated nut. (b) Tighten the nut from 360 to 420 pound-inches. (c) Loosen the nut to the nearest castellation and install the cotter pin.
(9) S 862-026Install the ground locks in all landing gear (AMM 09-11-00/201).

Connect the downlock bungee (1) to the jury strut (AMM 32-32-16/401).
