Apply the corrosion inhibition material to the gland nut threads.
CAUTION: DO NOT TIGHTEN THE GLAND NUT MORE THAN THE TORQUE LIMIT TO
_______ ALIGN THE SLOTS. TOO MUCH TORQUE DOES NOT MAKE A BETTER SEAL AND CAN CAUSE DAMAGE TO PARTS.

Use the wrench adapter to install the gland nut (9) and tighten 2100 to 2400 pound-inches.

Align the nearest lock tab slots.

Make sure that the dimension A minus 7.924 (Fig. 802) is equal to the dimension B | 0.030 inches. 1) If the dimension B is less than the limit, disassemble the
shock strut. 2) Examine for the twisted seals or the clearance between the parts.
(p)
After you assemble and tighten the parts correctly, install the lockplate (7).

Put the airplane back to its usual condition.

(1) Rub the open part of the inner cylinder with hydraulic fluid specified on the shock strut nameplate.
