When you do this seal replacement, the airplane gross weight must not be more than 564,000 pounds. And the center of gravity must be in the flight limits (15-33% MAC) with less than 20 knots wind velocity. The wind more than 20 knots can decrease the maximum approved gross weight of the airplane (Fig. 805). Do not replace the seals in the wind more than 50 knots. The wind velocity is independent of direction.
(3)
The airplane must have an clean condition (flaps retracted, zero stabilizer setting, and etc).

The subsequent procedure has the seal replacement on the shock strut for the left body landing gear. For the seal replacement on the shock strut for the right body landing gear, do the equivalent operations.
(5)
This procedure gives the removal of the lower bearing for the shock strut with the puller. An optional procedure is to increase the pressure on the shock strut with nitrogen or dry air. Approximately 100 psi of pressure is necessary to remove the lower bearing. The special tool is not necessary for this procedure but it is necessary to follow the safety precautions.
